A few minutes back, Sai Abhyankar’s new song “Sithira Puthiri” was released on Think Music channel. Three days back, Think Music team released a promo video featuring social media influencer Sameeha Mariam, famously known as TechPotate. I thought this girl would feature in the main video. However, they gave us a surprise.
I opened the video and it gave me the vibes of 90s indipop era. The video has Sai Abhyankar checking out an old painting of a girl and as he touches the painting, he is teleported to a different era or past life connection. This used to be the plot in so many indipop songs like one song by Rageshwari – Pyar Ka Rang (link: https://youtu.be/UQY4ygMV6Jw ). And another song “Boom Boom” by Biddu Appaiah (link: video not available on YouTube). Some other day, I’ll have to write how good this song video was shot in Bangalore Palace!
Now coming back to Sai Abhyankar’s song, I couldn’t focus much on the music aspect. It sounds very much like Sai Abhyankar’s genre with a lot of sounds in the background. Maybe after a week of listening, I’ll be able to tell better about the music aspect. It’s the video that pulls us completely! Actress Meenakshi Chaudhary has been roped into this video. Must say, Think Music producers are putting good money into these independent artists’ video songs. This used to be the trend in the 90s indipop times. I’m happy at least in Tamil, independent music scene is getting good funding from the music labels.
They’ve spent good money on outdoor shoot (Jaipur Palace) and they’ve made some 3D backgrounds also. Camera work is too good. The dress colour schemes are good. Lot of vfx all through the video. One good thing is the extended and slow credits given towards the end and it mentions all important people who made the video possible along with the music credits. Let’s see how this song goes. When I watched, the song had clocked 40k views in 11 minutes!
