How do bad educational institutions manage to survive?

I was discussing with a friend about the quality of education and educational institutions. So my friend pointed to an educational institution that isn’t of good quality (no good teachers, no good placement record), but was getting good number of students. They had hiked their fees by around 40%, yet the demand hasn’t come down. So I provided a hypothesis: “It’s all about demand and supply. The government has been rather negligent and not starting / expanding the government educational institutions. The population growth has been huge. People want to get educated. People have money. Hence this demand.”

What about people who do not have money? That’s a big percentage. They cannot afford a good quality education. These are left to the mercy of quick commerce and abusive corporates in the future.

Merit is just for bashing reservation policy. Check most private educational institutions and you’ll find that most of the students have no good academic performance. Many students at the UG and even PG levels can’t make proper sentences! Thanks to AI, they survive to even write research papers and publish!
