Facial Recognition for Student Attendance is a Dangerous Move

Karnataka State Government has decided to implement facial recognition technology to track student attendance in government schools and colleges. In today’s Deccan Herald newspaper, I and my colleague Surya Sundaresan argue that this is a dangerous move and violates the right to privacy of students.
