Students have been asking when the current even semester ends, when exams would commence and when the next odd semester (new academic year) starts. Here’s my take. These are my guesses based on experience. In any case, this is not the official communication from the university. I cannot assure this will happen for sure. So take this information with a pinch of salt.
1. Current even semester (2nd, 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th sem) may end by around June 6th, 2025 (Friday).
2. Exams may commence from 9th or 16th June and go on till 15th of July.
3. Valuation may start from around 1st of July and may end by around August 1st week.
4. New odd semester or the new academic year will mostly start from August 1st, 2025.
Why this hurry?
Prior to 2020, the University used to commence every new academic year (1st sem) (odd semester) from August first week. Classes would go on till November end or December 1st week. And by the mid of December, exams would start and go on till the mid of January.
The gap between 1st sem and 2nd sem (odd and even sem) would be limited.
The new semester (2nd sem) (even semester) would start by February 1st of 2nd week. This semester would go on till May end of June. Exams would begin by around June first week and end by July first week. The students would get a solid one month break here. They could go for long internships.
During Covid time, this system was broken. It was beyond control. The academic calendar was delayed by at least 5-6 months! It took them 4 years to bring this back on track like earlier.
Future hopes:
It is hoped that this would be the last semester that would be hurried up. Hope next semester onwards, everything will go smooth and on normal speed and there would be sufficient time for everything.
