So I tried this Rajdhani mango thali at the Mantri mall. It costs Rs. 700 per plate. After paying Rs. 700 for this thali, they offer some mango drinks and say that it is charged extra! Wonderful!
They gave mostly sweet items and a lot of not so worthy items like some vada sambar which was either extremely salty or the curry was turning sour (getting spoiled). They offered some paneer sabji, but the sabji hardly had any paneer. They served Malpoa – which was good. When you are given so many sweets, how much can you have?
They come too quick to serve many items and at times you feel it would have been better if it was a buffet and you yourself could walk and get the items you wanted, instead of them coming and disturbing you again and again. They kept coming to offer rice and khichdi, though we told them that we are done with the rice.
The thali was not worth the price (Rs. 700) paid. The packaging is impressive with good ambience, good plates, napkin… They boost your ego initially by offering hot water to wash your hands in a bowl. Nothing worth! Never going here again.
Last year during summer, I had been to Halli Mane for a mango thali on a Sunday. We were made to stand in a line outside the hotel, as if we were waiting for free or subsidized ration given by the government for more than 45 minutes. When we went inside, we had to buy the coupon and rush to get a seat. And when the items arrived, it didn’t feel worth it for the amount paid. A lot of these mango thalis as not worth it at all.
