I recently set the question paper for a university. The process of setting the question paper took me 3 days. After all this, I was given a form to fill for the purpose of payment. It took me almost an hour to fill in the details.
Last month, when I judged a moot court competition also, they made me fill in a form which took quite some time to fill.
The amount received from these two works is not something big. However, the time I spent doing the work and filling the form was a lot. In economic terms, the time and efforts taken for the work should match the economic benefit you receive. For teachers, the time and effort put does not match the economic returns you get.
I feel there’s a planned effort done by the system to keep the teachers underpaid and humble. And with such teachers, the society expects the teachers to voice out against the injustices in the society done by powerful people.
